Vermont pianist and composer Bob Merrill teams up with Maine singer-songwriter Sorcha Cribben-Merrill (his niece) for a special retrospective concert as part of The Hotel Coolidge Salon Series.

They will share a playful and poignant mix of originals from both artists, spanning four decades and various styles, featuring piano, acoustic guitar, and vocal harmonies. This duo performance will also celebrate Sorcha’s new EP Making Time, a collaboration with Matt Appleton, recorded at The Station Studio in Norwich, VT.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS
A fixture of the Upper Valley music scene, Bob Merrill is a composer, producer, and audio engineer. He began playing piano at 5 years old, and has played bass and piano professionally for longer than he cares to admit. He can be found playing jazz at local venues, private engagements with area musicians, or silent films at Lebanon Opera House, Dartmouth College, and other venues from Vermont to Texas. He now makes his home in Wilder, Vermont.

The expressive range of singer-songwriter Sorcha Cribben-Merrill – “one of Maine’s most versatile troubadours,” according to Downeast Magazine — is in peak form on her new EP, Making Time. Her stirring lyrics, signature vocal jazz charm, and folk-pop guitar skills meet adventurous production in collaboration with Matt Appleton, Grammy nominated music producer, engineer and saxophonist, and multi-instrumentalist from Vermont.

The Salon Series features intimate live performances, storytelling, and musical acts hosted in the Vermont Room at the historic Hotel Coolidge, White River Junction, VT.
