Summer Barn Concert - Thomaston, ME (DUO w/ Emma Stanley)

  • Summer Barn Concert Thomaston, ME (map)

It’s an annual tradition! I’m honored to be the Artist in Residence for this wonderful Barn House Concert for many years running.

Each year, I invite different special guests to join me on their lovely handmade stage, overlooking gorgeous sprawling mid-coast gardens. Idyllic, one might say.

This summer, I’m thrilled my friend Emma Stanley will join me on trumpet, flugelhorn, keys, and vocals. Such a treat! Emma is an incredible, versatile musician/composer/arranger, a joy to collaborate with, and the kindest human.

DUO BIO

Sorcha Cribben-Merrill and Emma Stanley are inventive multi-instrumentalists whose original indie folk and jazz songs feature acoustic guitar and percussion (Sorcha), keys, trumpet, and flugelhorn (Emma), and vocal harmonies. Whether sharing their own compositions, a creative cover, or a jazz standard, their synergy is magnetic and inviting.

Emma Stanley is a soulful seasoned performer, composer, and arranger who has toured in the orchestra with several national productions, and she performs with The Fogcutters Big Band and many other local/regional favorites. MaineToday called her an “incredible horn player” with “perfect sound.”

Sorcha Cribben-Merrill draws you into bluesy grooves, haunting ballads, and intricate folk-pop vignettes with her vocal jazz charm and powerful presence. She has opened for Grammy-nominated mandolinist Matt Flinner, folk music icon Tom Rush, and celebrated cellist/multi-instrumentalist Leyla McCalla. Downeast Magazine calls Sorcha “one of Maine's most versatile troubadours.”
