some significant moments need little songs
cause it's the only way to capture
the true enormity of it all.

My song 'Metaphors' was once a small melody in a big snowstorm, lyrics grappling with impossibility, on repeat - set to the rhythm of my snow shovel.
The repetition helped. The metaphor helped. It was a hard moment within a hard moment.
Years later, in Matt Appleton's recording studio, he & I finished writing it into its fully formed self:
grown up melodies, bossa nova-inspired rhythms, cinematic horn lines, spontaneous experiments, playful precision. Life echoed the song - he helped me see what's possible.
I'm so grateful Matt (creative collaborator / musician / producer / engineer), Alex Brander (drummer), and Pete Morse (mastering engineer) teamed up with me. This has been years in the making.
Soon, all five songs will be available (MAKING TIME EP) in various forms: including, yes, vinyl. I'll keep you in the know. Maybe these songs will turn some tables in hopeful directions…
